The original batch of महिला Mahila (Hindi word for woman) was first made around 2013 and was composed as a tribute to all the things I have ever been inspired by from Indian culture. I was conceived in Kolkatta in 1961 and born in Australia in 1962, so there is a part of me that always considers this human body that I live inside to be “made in India”. Later on, a beautiful and incredibly talented woman, (a friend and creative collaborator for many years) claimed Mahila perfume as her signature scent.
